Terry Portra and Chris Bellfi tendered by Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL

The Pikes Peak Miners are pleased to announce that both Terry Portra and Chris Bellfi signed with the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League this past weekend in Ann Arbor, MI. Aberdeen is an expansion team in the NAHL for the 2010-11 season, and is located in the northeast corner South Dakota.

Terry Portra, originally from South Dakota, will be heading back to his home state after spending the last 4 years away playing Midget AAA. Terry left his home state in order to compete at a higher level and pursue his hockey ambitions. In his second year with the Miners U18 team, Terry has exemplified himself as one of the strongest skaters, best penalty-killers, leaders and hardest workers on and off the ice. He will be a great addition to the “Wings” ….congratulations Terry!!

Chris Bellfi, on the other hand will be heading to unchartered territories. Chris, a native of Colorado, began playing ice hockey 4 years ago moving over from roller hockey. He has played for the Miners program for the last 2 years for both the U16’s and U18’s. Through 40 games this season, Chris has amassed 5 goals and 17 assists to lead all defensemen. Chris’s physical play and competitive nature will surely be an asset to Aberdeen, and will bode well in the NAHL…great job Chris!!
