Coaching Staff
 
Head Coach: Peter Geronazzo

Coach Geronazzo played his youth hockey in his hometown of Trail, British Columbia, Canada. He went on to play Jr. A in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League before moving on to Colorado College. While at CC, Pete helped the Tigers to Back-to-Back-to-Back WCHA Championships. Pete was a captain his senior season and helped guide the Tigers to the NCAA Finals in 1996. He was voted 1st Team All-American in 1996.
Pete went on to play 6 seasons of professional hockey including stints in Europe, the IHL and the ECHL. Pete has been coaching youth hockey in Colorado Springs for the past 6 seasons. Pete is a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach and has proven success at the Squirt, Peewee, Bantam and Midget ages levels. Pete and his wife Molly have made their home in Colorado Springs along with their two children, Jake and Juliana.
 
Assistant Coach: Bob Beveridge

Coach Beveridge is in his 3rd season coaching with Coach Geronazzo. Coach Beveridge grew up in Washington, DC playing youth hockey for the Little Capital AAA hockey organization before moving on to a stellar collegiate career at Wake Forest University and the University of Maryland. Coach Beveridge graduated from The University of Maryland in 1999 and was commissioned in the US Army bringing him to Colorado Springs, CO. Bob spent 6 years on active duty to include a tour in Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star. He is currently a Captain in the US Army Reserve.
Coach Beveridge knows first hand the value of team work, discipline, and commitment, and the teams he coaches reflect those values. Bob, his wife Becky and their two children live in Colorado Springs.
 
Goalie Coach: Joey Zaremba

Born and raised in Queens, NY Joey moved to Colorado in 1990. He played youth hockey in Colorado Springs for the Air Force Amateur Hockey Clubs, where he turned his hockey focus to goaltending. Joey played hockey at Liberty High School and he also played Midget AAA hockey for the Pikes Peak Miners and the Vail Mountaineers. Joey played goalie for the USA Hockey U16 National Select Festival team in 1998 and moved on to play Junior A Hockey in the AWHL and USHL. Joey has worked the past few seasons with coach
Pete and Bob as the team goalie coach. Joey works with young goaltenders teaching style, techniques and the finer disciplines of goaltending. He currently lives in Colorado Springs and is employed by Active Response Group, inc. a New York based Advertising and Marketing Company.
 
Mission Statement
The Pikes Peak Miners are the flagship program under the umbrella of Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association. The Miners organization prides itself on not only developing hockey players, but also capable students and determined young men. It is our goal to provide AAA caliber U16 hockey players with excellent coaching, rigorous practice, and a competitive game schedule all within a supportive environment which places emphasis on the academic, social, and mental development of all participants. It is our responsibility to facilitate the development of elite U16 hockey players and prepare them for advancement to Midget Major AAA hockey and beyond. The U16 Miners will play to win; and we will do it with class, with character, and as a team.
