| by his teammates during his senior year. During the final season the Pioneers were the regular season, and WCHA champions, and went on to compete in the NCAA Final 4 tournament in Providence Rhode Island. After his college career was over, Dion signed a professional contract with the Edmonton Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers were on their way to becoming a dynasty, deep with extremely good players. The Oilers won the Stanely Cup in 1984, 85, 87 and 88. After playing 2 seasons in the Oilers farm system that were marked with several broken bones, Dion decided to stop paying professional hockey. Since that time Dion has been active in the Colorado Springs hockey community. As a past President of Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association, Dion was instrumental in the merging of 2 local associations into what is now called Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association, CSAHA. Dion has coached all levels from Squirt B up to Midget Miner AAA with the Colorado Thunderbirds. As a former defenseman, he brings focus to the defensive aspects of hockey, that should work well with the offensive efforts of head coach Enga. |
